Hennessey paused last Friday morning and gathered to honor not only our hometown veterans but all that served. The service started with all of the veterans being escorted in, followed by a single Marine carrying the United States Flag. The Hennessey Choir performed a song then Hennessey Middle School Principal Ricardo Tarango spoke about his service in the United States Marine Corps. Tarango spoke about a friend of his that put himself first to save someone’s life, but lost his own, while he was not active in the service. The message was to be the best you can be and put others first. After a slide show that featured all of Hennessey’s past and present veterans, the Hennessey Band played each of the military branches’ theme songs.
