Giant Cowboy Hat, BBQ, and Beautiful Murals

Jay Ruiz, the owner of the nearly completed Howdy’s Travel Plaza, took All About Hennessey for a tour of his new business on the north end of Hennessey today. Jay said, “We will be a full-service travel center.” The new business will offer all of the usual items that a large convenience store includes but much more. These include about 100 specialty sodas of all flavors, cooked on-site BBQ, Broaster Chicken brand, and a Chipotle-style menu created on-the-spot bowls, tacos, and burritos are made to order in front of the customer. All this, along with pizza of your design, in 3 minutes.

The inside features several hand-painted murals, a beer cave, and an entire wall of refrigerators for drinks of all kinds. The outside includes covered, separate gas and diesel fuel islands, a large parking area for trucks, a fenced dog park, and the world’s largest cowboy hat for shade.

The new store is scheduled to open in mid-December.
