Tear it Down

Several months ago, the Hennessey Board of Trustees gave the fire department permission to use the old daycare building behind the Library to use for training.   At last week’s meeting, Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman told the board, “They have used it several times but have realized that it is in worse condition than they thought.  Many of the windows have been broken out and it has been broken into several times.”

The board discussed if they should put it out for bid to see if anyone would want it, or tear it down.  Tillman said, “It has a lot of termite damage.”  The board asked if the town workers could tear it down, Tillman responded with, “It is a workers comp risk.”   The board voted to get bids from a demolition company to tear it down.
