For many Enid families, The Commons isn’t a place they’ve discovered. It’s a place they’ve known about for years. In fact, chances are you’ve had a family member, friend, neighbor, church member, or former coworker who has called The Commons home at some point over the last several decades.
Founded in 1962, The Commons has quietly become one of Enid’s longest-standing senior living communities. Just over two years ago, the campus entered an exciting new chapter when it became part of Bridges Health, an employee-owned healthcare organization. While leadership has evolved, the heart of The Commons has remained unchanged; a commitment to serving older adults with dignity, compassion, and exceptional care.
Today, The Commons offers a full continuum of senior living and healthcare services designed to meet residents wherever they are in life’s journey. Asbury Place Apartments provide independent living for active adults ready to enjoy the freedom of maintenance-free living. Trinity Place Assisted Living offers the right amount of support while encouraging independence, and the campus also provides long-term care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services, allowing residents to remain in a familiar, caring environment as their needs change over time.
The future of The Commons is equally bright. Plans are underway to introduce cardiac skilled nursing services, expanding the specialized care available and reinforcing the commitment to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of the community.
Residents of nearby Wesley Place Town Homes continue to enjoy access to many of the amenities that have long made The Commons such a special place, including dining services and a workout facility. It’s another example of the connected lifestyle and welcoming community that have become hallmarks of the campus.
Of course, ask most families what makes The Commons special and they probably won’t begin with a list of services. They’ll tell you about the nurse who offered comfort during a difficult season. The caregiver who remembered a resident’s favorite dessert. The staff members who know everyone by name. They’ll remember friendships formed over shared meals, activities, worship services, card games, and everyday conversations that transformed a retirement community into something that feels much more like family. That’s what has defined The Commons for more than six decades.
Buildings change, healthcare evolves, and new services are introduced, but the values that matter most like compassion, respect, and genuine relationships continue to shape every interaction and every resident’s experience.
Every community has places that become woven into its story. In Enid, The Commons is one of those places.mFor generations, it has provided care, comfort, friendship, and peace of mind to thousands of residents and families. Today, under the ownership of Bridges Health, that tradition continues while embracing new opportunities to better serve the community for years to come.
Helping people feel at home has always been the mission of The Commons. That’s a legacy worth celebrating.
