Carl Storm knows a thing or two about preparing for a rainy day. And with a last name like Storm, perhaps that’s fitting!
As President of Community State Bank, Carl has spent 27 years with CSB, but his banking career began in Dover in 1996. A graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in finance (Go Bison!), Carl enjoys both sides of banking: the people and the numbers.
For Carl, relationships are at the heart of what he does. He enjoys visiting with customers just as much as digging into the dollars and cents. One of the most rewarding parts of his job is driving around town and seeing the growth and improvements the bank has helped make possible.
And when something around the office isn’t working quite right? Carl is often the go-to guy, especially when it comes to anything IT-related. Turns out, the bank president is pretty handy at fixing things, too!
Outside the office, Carl and his wife, Carrie, have five children, a son-in-law, and their first grandbaby on the way! When asked what hobby could keep him busy all afternoon, his answer was simple: “My kids are my hobby!”
Here’s something you might not know about Carl. He lives in the same house his great-grandparents built back in 1913. Talk about family roots!
His drink of choice has changed over the years, trading Dr Pepper for unsweet tea. But one thing that hasn’t changed is his belief in the importance of relationships, both in banking and in life.
When asked for his best banking advice, Carl shared, “Plan for a rainy day. It’s going to happen. A storm will eventually come, and being ready, you’ll be glad you did.”
And the words he holds closest? The greatest commandment, to love the Lord with all your heart, found in Matthew 22:37.
After nearly three decades with CSB, Carl continues to value the people, relationships, and community that make small-town banking special.
