Hennessey’s own country music star, Josh Meloy, returned home for two sold-out concerts Thursday and Friday, July 23 and 24, at Vernost Winery on Main Street.
After spending the past several years touring the country, Meloy’s homecoming was a special event for local fans, who packed the venue both nights to welcome him and his band back to Hennessey.
With a smile, Meloy greeted the crowd by saying, “This is my favorite venue. I only had to drive about a mile to get here!”
Because the concerts were limited to guests 21 and older, many of Meloy’s family members, along with plenty of children, gathered across the street in the InterBank parking lot to enjoy the music from outside the venue.
Both shows sold out quickly. On Friday morning, organizers released an additional 100 tickets, which were snapped up by eager fans.
Judging by the enthusiastic reception, it’s safe to say Hennessey is already looking forward to Josh Meloy’s next hometown performance.
In the meantime, fans can follow his musical journey on his Facebook page, Josh Meloy Music.
