HENNESSEY, Okla. — Summer activities got underway for the Hennessey Eagles with a football camp for students in third through sixth grades held May 18-19.
The two-day camp was led by Hennessey Head Football Coach Mark Cox, with assistance from Coach Hill and Coach Fuksa. Several Hennessey High School football players also volunteered their time to help instruct and encourage the young athletes throughout the camp.
Participants spent the two days learning football fundamentals through drills, practicing plays, and developing skills that will help them on and off the field. Beyond the game itself, coaches emphasized the values that are important to being a Hennessey Eagle.
Students were encouraged to demonstrate discipline, hard work, dedication, and a willingness to be coached. Coaches stressed the importance of teamwork, respect, and maintaining a positive attitude while learning new skills.
The involvement of current high school players provided younger athletes with role models and gave them a glimpse of what it means to represent Hennessey football at the next level.
The camp served as both an introduction to the sport for some participants and an opportunity for returning players to sharpen their skills while building excitement for the upcoming football season.
