Phases One and Two of the three-phase reconstruction project on South Mitchell Road are now complete.
Over the past week, contractor Rudy’s Construction placed the final layer of asphalt and installed sod along the ditches, putting the finishing touches on the newly rebuilt roadway.
The road was constructed to Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) specifications and is designed to handle heavy truck traffic for years to come.
The remaining one-third of the roadway will be reconstructed once additional grant funding becomes available, which officials expect to happen in the near future. Photo by AAH Jack Quirk
