In the heart of Kingfisher, thereโs a place where the ovens never rest, the coffee is always brewing, and the smiles come free with every order. Welcome to 81 Bakehouse, where one remarkable family is baking up something truly special.
At the center of it all are Curtis and Sarah Walker, the eyes, ears, and hands behind every detail. From the early-morning prep to the last crumb swept up at closing, their dedication is poured into each part of the process. But theyโll be the first to tell you, this dream wouldnโt work without the whole family working together, side by side.
Their son Jude is the friendly face behind the coffee counter; his smile is as warm as the drinks he expertly crafts. A true barista at heart, he brews with care and intention. Alongside him is Connor, a close family friend and the ultimate wingman. He helps customers pick just the right drink or treat and makes everyone feel right at home.
Calleigh, the familyโs bread whisperer, is the artist behind the slow-fermented sourdough loaves that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Then thereโs Titus and Asa, the dynamic duo in charge of the sandwich station. They put together every ingredient with love to create mouthwatering sandwiches and fresh, hearty salads.
And we canโt forget Hadassah, affectionately known as the cookie monster. Sheโs the master of baking and decorating the irresistible cookies and pastries that fly off the shelves. Her sweet creations are a reflection of her joy, adding color and delight to every display case.
Every member of the Walker family has a role, and every role is important. Together, they make 81 Bakehouse more than a bakery; itโs a unit of hard work, love, built on family, faith, and the desire to serve their community with warmth and intention.
โItโs labor-intensive, but itโs worth it,โ says Curtis. โWe wanted everything from scratch. High quality. No shortcuts.โ That commitment is baked into everything they do, from the famous sourdough chocolate chip cookies to the classic snickerdoodles and everything in between.
Beyond the incredible food and coffee, what truly sets 81 Bakehouse apart is its heart. This isnโt just a business, itโs a place to gather, to connect, and to feel known. Whether theyโre baking for a custom order, participating in local events, or simply sharing smiles across the counter, the Walkers are building something far bigger than a bakery.
And while the dream continues to grow, breakfast items, healthier options, and maybe even croissants someday, one thing remains the same: 81 Bakehouse isnโt just about baking. Itโs about belonging. But don’t take our word for it, check them out at 223 N Main St, Kingfisher, (405) 538-5665. 81 Bakehouse hours are Tuesday-Friday 7 am-4 pm and Saturday 7 am-3 pm.
