Hennessey Elementary 3rd graders time traveled back to the pioneer days on Wednesday, May 1st. With the help of their teachers and parents, the little buckaroos and buckarettes visited stations from making butter and milking a cow to playing games from that era. The students also learned about chuckwagons and what it took to cook for the cowboys on cattle drives across the prairie. The day ended with a land run where the young settlers raced to stake their claim on their land to enjoy their lunch. Story and photos by AAH Amy Smith
