Band Director Danny Powers of the Hennessey Pride Band has been recognized as the Band Director of the Year by the Oklahoma Red Carpet Country Band Directors Association. In addition to this prestigious award, Danny was also honored with a plaque for his past service as the Red Carpet President.
Originally from Hinton, Danny pursued his music education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, specializing in the tuba. Following his studies, he began his career as the assistant Band Director at Enid High School and Longfellow School.
The Hennessey Pride band is soaring under his direction. Danny assumed the position of Hennessey Pride Band Director in 2022. Danny’s traditional approach to band direction, with a strong emphasis on Brass, Woodwinds, and Percussion, has propelled the Pride of Hennessey Band to great success, earning numerous accolades in the past year.
