TOUGH MATCHUP FOR THE EAGLES

The Lady Eagles faced the Okarche Lady Warriors last night. The first quarter started off really well for Hennessey, they jumped out to a small lead and the offense was playing well against a good warrior defense. Said defense though, made needed adjustments, and after their Lady Warrior offense pulled ahead they never looked back. The eagles only managed 3 in the 2nd quarter, but the defense held up and they only trailed by 2 scores. They only put up 2 in the 3rd quarter though, and Okarche pulled away. They would lose 47-22, with a game versus Perry tonight, senior night versus Blackwell next Tuesday, and the regular season finale at Fairview next Thursday.

The class 2A #4 ranked Hennessey boys met the class A #4 Ranked Okarche Warriors. The first quarter proved this would be a battle, as both teams played aggressive and got into foul trouble early, with Okarche holding the upper hand. The Eagles started to find a flow though, and fought back into the game at halftime, only trailing by 3, 25-22. The 3rd quarter was an entirely different story, Garret Vinson and Hunter Weber took matters into their own hands, and rattled off 5 minutes of not missing a shot, giving the Eagles a double digit lead. They won the 3rd quarter 28-9 and never looked back. Okarche fought in the 4th, but too little too late. The Eagles came out on top 64-60. Story by Taylor Ladwig, photos by Jude Hestand.
