PINK OUT!

Pink out for the Hennessey Eagles! The Hennessey Eagles football team had their annual pink out game vs the Blackwell Maroons this year as both teams were looking to get their first win. The Eagles started off about as hot as you could, getting the ball on the 1 yard line and tacking on 8 point within 20 seconds. Blackwell had an answer though, rattling off a 54 yard touchdown to cut the lead to 2 for the Eagles. The Maroons wouldn’t be denied, and punched in another touchdown to take the lead. The Eagles couldn’t find a rhythm offensively and Blackwell would eventually punch it in 2 more times before halftime, leaving the score at 24-8. The boys came out with some halftime adjustments made though, and after giving Blackwell the ball immediately, shut them down handedly. Back and forth drives stalling led to some Hennessey momentum capped off by a 30 yard touchdown for Jessin Hardin. Putting them 24-16. In need of 8, some very weird back and forth drives led to the Eagles getting just over 2 minutes and a chance. A clutch 4th down conversion followed with a 40 yard touchdown from Holder to Jakob Johns. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t get the 2 point conversion and would fall 24-22. They play next week @ Alva.
