TRAFFIC JAMS, PEOPLE EVERYWHERE, IT WAS GREAT!

Last Saturday, September 16th Hennessey opened its doors and garages to the hordes of people looking for deals during the annual Town-wide Garage sale and Crazy Day event.

Over 50 Hennessey residents set up shop in their garages, porches, and front yards to sell everything from furniture to clothing. One enterprising boy set up on Oklahoma St. selling lemonade to the many cars in search of a bargain.  The biggest concentration of sales was along Cheyenne and Cimarron Streets, which became difficult to navigate because of all the cars and people going from yard to yard.

All About Hennessey did a spot survey and found many people traveling from Fairview, Okeene, Kingfisher, and Enid to shop and eat. Many of the Main St businesses were open and all reported a surge of business during the day.

Taking advantage of the crowds the Hennessey Choir held a carwash fundraiser and Eagle Snow sold snow cones and donated a portion of their proceeds to the choir.  The Choir is raising money to perform at Disney World in Florida.
