GRANDPARENT’S DAY & DOT DAY

Last Friday morning, September 15th grandparents joined their grandchildren in their classrooms to celebrate Grandparent’s Day at the Elementary and Early Childhood Center!

The ECC children and some teachers were dressed in polka dot clothes while celebrating Dot Day at school and listened to The Dot Book, a story that encourages bravery and creativity. The Early Childhood Center said, “This is a day to connect and collaborate, and also to celebrate self-expression.” After listening to the book, ECC students were joined by their grandparents in the outdoor classroom.

The ECC was hopping with many different activities including food, art, STEM, and singing The Dot song.  The fence around the outdoor classroom was decorated with Dot art that the students had created during the week.

The event concluded with all of the students, teachers and grandparents creating a giant dot in the outdoor classroom for an aerial photo.

In the Elementary, grandparents accompanied the students to their classrooms where they had snacks, and the kids filled out a survey about their grandparents.
