This past Saturday The Hennessey Fire Department cooked up a wonderful dinner and served it to the community for their annual fundraiser. Several hundred attended the event and enjoyed music by Mathew Streck.
This is the last event held in the fire station before demolition begins for the planned major addition and remodel. The improvements are funded with a portion of county sales tax dedicated to fire departments along with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The plan is to add a ladder truck to the fleet of firefighting equipment. There have been several structure fires recently where a ladder truck would have helped firefighters access areas unreachable with just a hose and ladder.
