911 SWITCH

Last Friday morning they flipped the switch on the contested 911 call center changing from Hennessey dispatch to the Kingfisher 911 dispatch center.  Kyle Granger, with Chickasaw Communications, spent all day Thursday reprogramming all of the radios in the police and fire vehicle fleet.

This change moves all of the dispatching of Hennessey Police and Fire to the Kingfisher 911 center.  Calls to the 853-4444 phone number will be answered 24/7 in Kingfisher and then rerouted if needed.

The Hennessey police station will be open to the public Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm for general business such as police reports and paperwork.  The police station can be reached locally during business hours at 405-853-7130 for non-emergency calls.  If you need the police or fire for an emergency dial 911.

Two of the four full-time Hennessey dispatchers, Brent Bruner and Roni Decker were offered a 3-month severance package and laid off. Tony Hickey, a CLEET-certified reserve officer will stay on as town Code enforcement and animal control officer. Braden Peck will continue at the police station as the administration clerk.
