The Hennessey Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the application for a $300,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) at last week’s regular meeting. If granted the money will go towards continuing the drainage project started about a year ago along South Mitchell Rd. The area to be improved is from 5th St. North to Oklahoma St, and S Mitchell. It will also include some drainage work along Oak St. The total cost of this project is estimated at $449,350. If Hennessey receives the grant the town will pay $149,350 and the grant would cover $300,000.
