HENNESSEY 2021 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES

Every year Hennessey High School nominates two inductees into the Hennessey Hall of Fame. This prestigious award is given to former graduates and teachers of Hennessey.  This year the class of 2021 Hennessey High School Hall of Fame inductees are Donald Smith, graduating class of 1970, and Jewel Babiak, former 5th grade teacher. 

Jewel Babiak is active in church, community activities and organizations.  Babiak and her husband Paul, former Hennessey Schools Superintendent, have three children and have retired in Hennessey.   

Donald Smith, 1970 grad of Hennessey High School, continued on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science in accounting with a minor in economics and business.  He then went on to earned his CPA.   Smith and his wife Tiffany, have three children and currently reside in Edmond, Oklahoma.  Smith and his family are very involved in animal welfare and have rescued over 30 dogs.  

In 1984, Don started Avalon Correctional Services. The company provided halfway houses and rehabilitation services to men and women serving the last 6 months of their prison sentence.  After 32 years of growing, the company was one of the largest halfway house providers in the country.
