Hennessey FFA Celebrates 2020-2021 Achievements Two Students Selected as State Proficiency Finalists!

Hennessey FFA began to close this year by attending the annual State FFA Convention April 27th and 28th at the Chesapeake Arena in OKC. Members in attendance were Emily Hawk, Ryan Pribil, Amey Haymaker, Cale Dickens, Ivan Rivera, Leah Dickens, Adin Dickens, Brooke Sims, and Katelynn Renshaw. The two days were filled with attending a large trade show, leadership workshops, and award presentations. Once again, two members of the Hennessey FFA were recognized on stage in front of members from across the state. Ryan Pribil was selected as a state proficiency finalist in the area of Grain Production- Entrepreneurship. This is Ryan’s second time to be selected for this honor. Amey Haymaker, a freshman student, was recognized for the first time as a state proficiency finalist in the area of Swine Production- Entrepreneurship. This is the 5th year in a row, Hennessey has had at least one member recognized as a state finalist! 

On Friday, April 30th, numerous family members, friends, and community supporters attended the Hennessey FFA annual awards and achievements banquet. Awards and discovery, greenhand, and chapter degrees were given to members who earned them through their personal agricultural experience projects, and FFA involvement. Last year’s state degree recipients (Kaden Mitchell, Elizabeth Pribil, Gage Zelnicek, and Derik Fuksa) were in attendance and were also recognized. Highlights of some of the awards include: 

Star Chapter Farmer- Amey Haymaker

Chapter Star in Agribusiness- Ryan Pribil

Chapter Star in Placement- Ivan Rivera

Honorary Chapter Degree- Hennessey Masonic Lodge

Star Discovery- Adin and Leah Dickens

Star Greenhand- Amey Haymaker

Top Hand Award- Ivan Rivera

Outstanding Community Service- Cale Dickens

Top Blue and Gold Salesmen- Ryan Pribil, Amey Haymaker, and Emily Hawk.
