As Hennessey Mercantile prepares to close its doors, Sparky’s Eatery is preparing to open some new ones.
After years of operating inside Hennessey Mercantile, Sparky’s Eatery is moving just down the street to 202 S. Main Street, the former Main Street Liquor building.
Sparky’s will serve its final meals from the Mercantile location on Friday, September 25, but owners say this isn’t goodbye. Instead, it is the beginning of a much bigger chapter for the Hennessey restaurant.
Over the years, Sparky’s has served thousands of lunches from its home inside the Mercantile, building relationships with customers and becoming a familiar lunch stop in the community.
The move will allow Sparky’s to expand beyond what customers have come to know.
At the new location, customers can expect a fresh new menu, extended hours, a completely new atmosphere and the introduction of Sparky’s Fresh Market.
The new market will offer grab-and-go foods, prepared meals and more, giving customers additional options beyond traditional dine-in service.
The move will also mean considerably longer hours. Sparky’s plans to be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., expanding from lunch service into the evening.
The restaurant is currently planning to open at 202 S. Main Street on or around October 6.
Sparky’s also expressed appreciation to Hennessey Mercantile owner Stacy Cline for providing the restaurant with a place to establish itself and grow.
“We’re incredibly thankful to Stacy for giving Sparky’s a place to grow, and to every customer who has supported us along the way,” the business said in its announcement.
While customers can expect plenty of changes at the new location, the people behind Sparky’s say the heart of the business will remain the same.
New location. New menu. New hours. New ways to serve Hennessey. Same Sparky’s. Just a whole lot more of it.
For Sparky’s, the closing of Hennessey Mercantile doesn’t mark the end of its story.
It simply means it’s time to turn the page.
