RedLevé Competitive Dance team recently traveled to Orlando, Florida, to compete at Showstopper, The Finals, one of the nation’s premier national dance competitions, where the studio earned numerous top placements and Platinum adjudications against talented dancers from across the country.
The competition began with strong performances from the studio’s junior duet and small groups in the Juniors Advanced Division. Aleissa and Anastasia received a Platinum Adjudication for their Junior Jazz Duet, earning 1st Place in their category and 9th Overall. The Junior Jazz and Hip Hop Small Groups each earned Platinum Adjudications and 2nd Place in their categories, while the Junior Contemporary Small Group also received a Platinum Adjudication and placed 5th in its category.
On the second day of competition, RedLevé’s Junior Hip Hop Large Group continued the studio’s success by receiving a Platinum Adjudication, earning 1st Place in its category and finishing 7th Overall. The studio’s soloists also delivered an impressive showing. Competing in the 9–12 age divisions, every RedLevé soloist earned either a Platinum or Double Platinum Adjudication, with each dancer finishing among the Top 10 in their respective category.
For a small-town studio, the experience was about more than placements. Competing alongside some of the country’s largest and most accomplished dance programs reinforced the progress RedLevé has made while providing motivation for the future.
“Our dancers proved they belong on that stage,” Cabral said. Watching them step outside their comfort zone and compete at this level made us incredibly proud.
