Meet the people behind Community State Bank- Hennessey.
Some people just have a way of making a place feel a little more welcoming. At Community State Bank’s Hennessey branch, Nila Mier is one of those people.
Nila is the Head Bank Teller at CSB, and this April will mark 19 years since she joined the bank. And if you ask her what has kept her there all these years, the answer comes pretty easy, the people.
“I’m a people person. I love the customers and the people I work with every day.”
Spend a little time with Nila and you’ll believe it. She’s bubbly, energetic, quick to laugh and almost always has a smile waiting for whoever walks through the door.
Around the bank, Nila has crowned herself “The Queen.” She also proudly claims the title of the one most likely to make everyone laugh. And birthdays? Don’t even try to keep yours a secret. If Nila knows it’s your special day, she’ll sing you the Happy Birthday song.
Outside of CSB, Nila is a Covington-Douglas graduate who lives in Marshall. Her biggest motivation is her 16-year-old daughter, Sophia. She is a sophomore at Covington-Douglas and, according to her mom, she’s a fighter with a beautiful spirit and a full-blown teenage girl who is a whole lot like her momma.
Someone once shared Philippians 4:13 with Nila: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She took those words to heart, and they’ve stayed with her ever since — a reminder that with faith, she can keep moving forward, keep growing and go as far as she sets her mind to.
