Most people spend Sunday wishing Monday wasn’t coming. Rachel Harris isn’t one of them.
In fact, Monday is her favorite day of the week. For Rachel, Monday means another week of helping people take the next step toward a better future, and that’s exactly where she wants to be.
As Project Director of Work Ready Enid, she’s seen firsthand what can happen when people are given the tools and confidence to move forward.
“I’ve seen participants completely change the trajectory of their lives and their families through better employment,” Rachel said. “That’s why I love what I do.”
One thing she wishes more people knew is that Work Ready Oklahoma is completely free and open to any Oklahoman looking to improve their employment situation.
Whether someone is searching for a better-paying job, changing careers, getting back into the workforce, or simply figuring out what comes next, the Work Ready team is there to help.
Rachel is also quick to give credit to the people she works alongside every day.
When asked to describe the team in one word, she chose complementary.
Each person brings different strengths, personalities, and experiences to the table. Those differences aren’t just important within the office; participants learn about them during the workshop, too. Together, those strengths allow the team to connect with people from all walks of life and help them build a path toward something better.
When the work week winds down, Rachel enjoys visiting local wineries and trying different wines. Come Monday, she’ll be right back where she loves to be, helping Oklahomans take the next step toward a better future.
