Memorial service for Kenneth Gene New, 90, will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday September 22, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Hennessey officiated by Rev. Shane Bennett. Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Kenneth was born in Hobart on August 27, 1936, to Odis and Christine Bryant New and died Wednesday September 16, 2026, at Baptist Village of Enid.
He graduated from Roosevelt High School and obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Southwestern State University. He made his career in education where he was a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent in public education. Kenneth was a member of First Baptist Church, Lions Club, and several professional organizations.
Kenneth married Bonnie Crabb in Hollis, Oklahoma August 27, 1958.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie of the home, two daughters Kynda Sheets and husband Brandan, Kayla New-Tilley and husband Terry, grandchildren Tanner and Amber Smith, Taler and Justice Smith, Adi Sheets; great-grandchildren Emeri, Beau, Knox, Coyle, Milli, one cousin Sharon Burton.
He was preceded by one grandson Jarred Williams and siblings Vera Biggers, Odie New, Randy Autry.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Hennessey Education Foundation, or any public school project with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
