The members of the newly formed Hennessey 522 Ambulance District Board were announced Monday morning during the regular Kingfisher County Commissioners meeting.
District 2 County Commissioner Mike Sparks announced the initial five-member board, which includes Dr. David Matousek, Levi Copeland, Shelley Muzny, Ray Shimanek, and Angel Molina.
During the meeting, it was determined that Molina resides outside the Hennessey School District, making him ineligible to serve on the board. Sparks said he is currently seeking a qualified replacement to fill the vacancy.
The Hennessey 522 Ambulance District was approved by voters earlier this year to provide a dedicated funding source for local emergency medical services.
An Oklahoma 522 Ambulance District Board is responsible for overseeing the funding and delivery of emergency medical services within the district. The governing boards were established under State Question 522, approved by Oklahoma voters in 1976, and members are appointed by the county commissioners.
