Kingfisher County District 2 Commissioner Mike Sparks says efforts to resolve ongoing road problems in the Hennessey area are continuing, although progress has been slowed by legal matters.
“I have not forgotten them. The lawyers are working out details on the final fix,” Sparks said.
The issues involve several county roads, including Conoco, Mitchell, Exxon, and E700 Roads. All four received chip-and-seal treatments last winter, but problems with the work have caused the road surfaces to deteriorate prematurely.
Sparks said the county is waiting for the legal issues to be resolved before moving forward with repairs.
“The moment the legal part of this is done, we will get to work,” he said.
The county’s goal is to install an asphalt overlay on the affected roads, providing a more permanent solution to the ongoing problems.
No timeline has been announced for when the repairs will begin.
