The funeral for Carolyn K. Humphries, 76, of Dover, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Dover Christian Church officiated by Wendell Prim.
Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Carolyn was born in Wilson on Feb. 23, 1950, to Albert Carl and Melba Cantwell McMillen and died Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Kingfisher.
She married Jerry Woodrow Humphries in Dover on June 25, 1969.
Carolyn worked in the Dover School cafeteria for many years and is fondly remembered by former students.
She loved gardening, especially her flowers and tomato plants. Carolyn also loved animals and was known to take in many stray dogs, feed them, nurture them and find them forever homes.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the home; daughter Angie Kubat and husband Brian of Dover; son Jerry Wayne Humphries and wife Priya of Dover; seven grandchildren, Christopher Kubat, Alyssa Kubat (wife Ruby), Alex Woodring, Journee Swenn (husband Trenton), Saydee, Tatum and Truett Humphries; and two great-grandchildren, Knoxyn and Landry Swenn.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, son Garry Humphries, daughter Trisha Yost and four brothers.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to SPCA with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund
