All About Hennessey will host a town hall-style public meeting on Tuesday, May 26, at the Hennessey Senior Citizens Center to help inform residents about the upcoming Ambulance District vote. This issue will affect all property owners within the Hennessey School District.
Residents are encouraged to attend this informative meeting to learn how the proposed EMS district could impact you, your family, and emergency medical services in our community.
A 522 Ambulance District is a funding method used by cities and towns across Oklahoma to support Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Currently, Hennessey is the only town in Kingfisher County without one in place.
The meeting will feature EMS professionals and local leaders who will explain how the district would work, answer questions from the public, and discuss what emergency medical services could look like if the measure does not pass.
Scheduled speakers include:
- David Macy, Pafford EMS
- Duke Dixon, CEO of Mercy Regional EMS
- Brandon Scott, Hennessey Fire Chief
- Members of the Hennessey Board of Trustees
- Tiffany Rowen, Hennessey Town Administrator
Topics include:
- How much will this tax cost us
- Who can vote
- Who gets ambiance service
- Who gets the money and why
- What if it fails
