Caring for One Patient at a Time

You can usually tell within the first few minutes whether someone genuinely enjoys what they do.
That was my impression after meeting Victoria “Vic” Hague. She’s welcoming, easy to talk to, and has a calming presence. She listens, and you can tell she actually hears what you’re saying. You never get the feeling she’s rushing through the conversation or already thinking about the next patient.
Originally from Florida, Vic attended Oklahoma State University before earning her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. She and her husband, a local veterinarian, have lived in Kingfisher for a little over a year. Along with raising their three-year-old daughter and four-month-old son, they stay busy with a cow-calf operation and hay production.
Today, she’s a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) at Kingfisher iCARE Primary Care & Wellness. She’s been with the practice for about eight months, with three of those spent on maternity leave. When her family moved to Kingfisher, she hoped to find a locally owned practice where she could build relationships with patients instead of simply treating illnesses. “I wanted to serve the community through a local, family-owned practice. iCARE offered exactly that, and even more.”
Growing up around agriculture and still living it today helps her connect with many of the families she treats. “My husband and I are deeply rooted in agriculture, which is something we share with so many people here. I love helping rural communities have better access to quality healthcare.”
When she’s away from work, you’ll usually find her with family, helping with cattle, cooking, or team roping whenever she can squeeze it in.
Vic doesn’t have every step of her future mapped out, but she knows one thing: she wants to keep serving Kingfisher. She regularly asks patients what they think the community needs and hopes to continue finding ways to meet those needs as her career grows.
The answer to what keeps her going is pretty simple. “Many of my patients are having a hard day when they come to see me. If I can help them feel even a little better, then I’ve done what I came to do.My passion has always been serving others and helping them become the best version of themselves.”
After sitting down with Vic, one thing stood out more than anything else: she genuinely enjoys caring for people. That’s hard to teach, and it’s something patients notice.
