Graveside services for Alma Louise Collier Frakes, 94 will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday June 10, 2026, at New Home Cemetery, officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile. The casket will remain closed at Alma’s request. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Alma was born at home on September 17, 1931, to Claude and Katharine Engleking Collier and passed away Saturday June 6, 2026, at Hennessey Care Center.
She attended school at Loyal and Hennessey and graduated from Hennessey High School. She then attended Hill’s Business College in Oklahoma City.
Alma married Dale Lee Frakes in Kingfisher. He passed away in 2002. Alma was baptized into the First Baptist Church of Hennessey in August 1947. Through the years she sang in the church choir, worked in the Primary Department of Sunday School with a fifteen-year perfect attendance in VBS as well. Alma was also a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader.
Over the years she worked at Snyder Variety Store, L&M Supply, and Lloyd Parker and Son Company. Following retirement, she assisted at Apache Corp., Whittenburg & Co., and Kirkpatrick Oil Co.
Alma is survived by three daughters, Saundra Nance of Shawnee, Rhonda Macy and husband Stephen of Loyal, Terri Applegate of Kingfisher, one son Larry Frakes and wife Tami of Bison; one grandson David Johnson and wife Amanda of Shawnee, three granddaughters Amanda Choate of Enid, Angela Posey and husband Andy, and Emily Shelite and companion Aaron Parks, all of Bison; six great-granddaughters and one great-grandson, and two great-great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and brother-in-law, and one son-in-law.
Memorial donations may be made in Alma’s name to New Home Cemetery with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
