New Goose Families Arrive in Hennessey
There’s a new baby boom taking place at Bull Foot Park, and it comes with feathers, fuzzy faces, and tiny webbed feet.
HENNESSEY, Okla. – Over the past several weeks, several of the park’s resident geese have welcomed brand-new goslings to their families. Three goose-and-gander pairs are now proudly leading their growing broods around the park as the young birds begin exploring their surroundings.
Visitors may spot the fluffy newcomers paddling through the water, nibbling along the shoreline, and following closely behind their parents in neat little lines. The goslings range in age, with the youngest estimated to be about two weeks old and the oldest nearing one month.
Like any curious youngsters, the baby geese occasionally stray from the group, only to be quickly guided back by attentive parents. Watching the families interact has become a favorite sight for park visitors enjoying the spring weather.
For now, the goslings have plenty to keep them occupied as they continue to grow. Between feeding time, learning to swim, and figuring out life around the pond, Hennessey’s newest feathered residents are keeping busy.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the new arrivals from a respectful distance and allow the families plenty of space as the young geese develop.
