Hennessey firefighters responded to a pickup truck fire behind 113 W. 4th Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. on May 12.
When crews arrived, they encountered thick black smoke and several loud explosions that could be heard throughout the area. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.
The truck was parked close to nearby structures, but firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread, preventing additional property damage.
The truck, owned by Bo and Bobbie Townley, was declared a total loss. No injuries were reported.
Hennessey Police assisted at the scene.
