Mark your calendars and hide your dry clothes, Hennessey Water Wars 2025 is coming in hot (and very wet) on Wednesday, August 13th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM! Hosted annually by the Hennessey Fire Department as a back-to-school splash-fest, this yearโs event promises to be the most epic soak-down in town history.
And guess what? Itโs new and improved. Thatโs right, more trucks, and more water! Fire crews from Dover and Omega are joining the fun, teaming up with Hennessey firefighters to ensure maximum splash radius. Their mission? Get Hennessey as wet as humanly possible.
Each department will follow assigned routes to avoid doubling back and to ensure water coverage across town is efficient and drenching. Pro tip: The more of you that gather together, the more likely you are to get hosed!
Hereโs where you can grab your ammoโerr, we mean balloons:
Pat Hennessey Park, Arapaho Street
LiFE-EMS on Oklahoma Street
Boy Scout Park (S. Cheyenne & 2nd St.)
About 3,500 water balloons will be tossed from fire trucks and stationed around town. And if thatโs not enough, theyโre thinking about parking tanker trucks behind the Eagle Event Center for those who really want to soak in the experience.
This year, an official Water Wars Command Center will help dispatch trucks where the fun is happeningโso if your block’s feeling dry, rally the kids and make some noise!
Got a hose? A super soaker? A cooler full of balloons? Perfect. Let the reverse splash attack begin! Firefighters might have the big hoses, but youโve got water power too, so be ready to drench them right back.
Smile and Spray! The All About Hennessey crew will be out filming a video about the mayhem, so donโt forget to wave (or throw a balloon their wayโwe dare you).
Itโs wild. Itโs wet. Itโs the most fun youโll have in your front yard all year. See you in the splash zone!
