Today we celebrate Maitland Woody’s birthday, formerly known to longtime readers as Maitland Pickle, or “Maitie”.
“Maitie” joined the All About Network team in June 2024 as a multimedia journalist for All About Kingfisher, and quickly proved she can juggle words, graphics, cameras, and deadlines without dropping (almost) anything.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Maitland has called Kingfisher home since age six. She’s a Kingfisher High School graduate and a Southern Nazarene University alum, earning her bachelor’s degree in graphic design, which explains why everything she touches suddenly looks better.
Last summer, Maitland married her college sweetheart, Talen Woody, and the two celebrated with a European honeymoon, casually checking off places most of us only see on postcards.
Maitland is one of the most giving and compassionate people we know. If someone needs help, she’s already halfway there. That spirit led her to found the Kingfisher Action Team (KAT), modeled after the successful Hennessey Action Team (CAT). In a short time, KAT has already helped multiple individual’s right here in Kingfisher.
She also has one of the best senses of humor around. Maitland can make a box of rocks sound fascinating, and probably interview it too.
Creative, curious, and passionate about storytelling, she writes heartfelt pieces about everyday moments that matter, and somehow makes readers care just as much as she does.
