Where are they now? David Macy

David Macy is the son of Gary and the late Diane Macy. He has one brother, Logan Macy. David graduated from Hennessey High School in 1995, but his career path direction was already set before he was out of high school. He started EMT basic school in the summer between his junior and senior year of high school. As a volunteer first responder, he was able to start covering shifts on the ambulance in Hennessey. David would cover the ambulance call during the day while he was in high school, because they were typically short handed. He carried a pager, and if they got an ambulance call during the day, then he would leave school and go run the ambulance call and then come back.   On David’s 18th birthday, he got to run his first two ambulance calls. This was the beginning of a career in fire service, and it started in Hennessey working for the fire department and EMS.  David will tell you his career path has no doubt been nothing short of an awesome ride.  His time working in Hennessey was definitely the foundation for which he was able to build a career on. Before David graduated on April 19th, 1995 he found himself serving the people. He was in OKC at a tour of News Channel 9 when the Oklahoma City Bombing occured. Here was an 18 year old, senior…and he stepped into action. Initially going to Baptist Hospital and volunteered at the ER for just a little bit before getting on an ambulance from there.  After graduating from Hennessey High School, David attended Autry Vo-Tech in Enid for EMT classes. David moved to Yukon and was a firefighter for the Oklahoma City Fire Department for 28 years. In 2021, he became Bridge Creek Fire Chief. He also had the opportunity to help out in southern Louisiana with Pafford Medical Services, as part of an ambulance task force following the hurricanes. David also worked for EagleMed from 2002- 2013 simultaneously with the fire department. He worked his way up to Lieutenant and retired in 2024. August 6th, 2024 he officially retired after signing the book. David is an avid OU fan, always cheering on his Sooners. He enjoys spending time with family and friends. In 2015, David moved to Tuttle where he continues to live. He currently works for NASCAR as an official on the AMR Safety Team. David goes to 16-20 NASCAR races a year. If you get a chance to meet or just catch up with him, don’t miss the opportunity. The knowledge, experience and stories are priceless. Always a smile on his face and loves people! AAH, Shelley Muzny
