Spring is the daughter of the late Jim and Susan Gates and has three siblings: Todd Tomlinson, Gena Curry, and Robin Green. She graduated from Hennessey High School in 1996. After completing her education, Spring moved to Arapaho, Oklahoma, where she lived for 21 years. During that time, she worked for the Clinton Police Department in an administrative role alongside the Chief of Police for 12 years. Following that, she worked for the Elk City Housing Authority and also contributed to the family farm.
This past summer, Spring decided to return to Hennessey to be closer to her family. She has four children: Emily Jones (25), Haley Cordes (21), Erika Cordes (17), and Cheston Cordes (12). Spring enjoys reading and frequently attends her children’s sporting events.
