It took many years to complete but the Hennessey Board of Education took the final steps to purchase the last piece of property to complete the parking area west of the auditorium. The home located at 519 E. Kansas (the NW corner of E. Kansas and N. Walnut) has been vacant and stuck in probate for many years. Nathen Greenfield, executor of the estate, was present at Monday night’s board meeting and came to a deal during the executive session. The purchase price was $55,000, and the estate must remove any asbestosis and all of the sheetrock in the home. The plan is to remove the structure and complete the existing parking area.
