Veteran’s Day Assembly was held at the Hennessey High School Auditorium, November 11, 2024. Mr. Cox welcomed family, friends, Veterans and students. The National Honor Society student’s escorted veterans to their seats. The Hennessey Choir (5th-12th) sang the National Anthem and America of Thee I Sing, under the direction of Melissa Faulkner. Fernando Armenta spoke about the history of Veteran’s Day. Jessin Hardin introduced speaker Col. Gordon Jantz, and he addressed the students and fellow Veterans. Col. Gordon Jantz spoke about being #1 in Pride, having pride within yourselves to accomplish your goals. Amy Rawlings put together a slideshow for the Hennessey Veterans Presentation. Marisol Valles spoke regarding the History of the Armed Forces. The Pride of Hennessey Band, under the direction of Mr. Powers played In Honor, the Armed Forces of the United States of America. Taylor Ladwig explained the POW/MIA Remembrance table. A moment of silence/Taps was played by Olivia Ferrell. The veterans were again escorted out by The National Honor Society students. Mr. Tarango closed the assembly and welcomed Veterans to a reception held in their honor. AAH, Shelley Muzny
