SALLY SCARECROW

Sally Scarecrow jumped into Kingfisher this morning. Had to stop by Talking Headz to have Angie spruce up her makeup and add more straw! The next stop was Mrs.Hagar’s pre-k class. We read “Scarecrow Scarecrow What do you see? “The class made masks so Sally Scarecrow saw pumpkins, bats, and cats. They share what they planned on dressing up as at Halloween. Sally gave them some scoop on Ursala hanging out with friends Beetle Juice and Poison Ivy at Talking Headz during the town-wide trick-or-treating. As Sally was walking out another teacher caught her in the hall so Sally went to her class. The class was just as excited to share their costume visions! As Sally left the building she had flashbacks of several years ago when she and another friend transformed into clowns. We’d go to different schools in the area putting on an hour-long assembly talking about manners and safety with a few magic tricks thrown in. The clowns were Buttons and Bow Bow. We decided one year ago to attend the Special Olympics as Huggers. I cried all the way home, those guys gave me so much more than I gave them that day. Unconditional hugs! I remember before we left Hennessey Buttons wanted to get some cash so we went threw the drive-thru at the bank. You would think the teller would recognize us but I guess she didn’t. Nervously she asked Buttons for her ID and seemed relieved when she realized Buttons was just Buttons! I was just amazed watching Buttons drive in the car in her clown shoes.  They were huge!!!! I always have to smile when those memories come to mind. We added so many bloopers from noses falling off to magic tricks going wrong. Life can be the same and no one is perfect in what character they portray. Laugh at the bloopers and keep moving! Some little ones are always watching and taking notes. Hopefully, they will pass the smiles and pass them on to the next generation!! Have a fun and safe Halloween. Story and photos by Bonny Flesher.
