Thick Black Smoke

Hennessey Firefighters responded to a tractor and grass fire Monday, August 5th at 2:16 pm located west of the intersection of NW2920 and EW610 Rd. This is about ¼ mile west of The Union Chapel Church east of Hennessey. When the firefighters arrived, a tractor was attached to a swather fully engulfed in flames, and the field was burning. They quickly extinguished flames that were approaching an oil location. The fire was moving to the north crossed the half-mile fence and entered another field. 

Hennessey worked the fire for about 2 hours before declaring it under control and returning to the station at about 5:30 pm.
