Rodeo Stars in the Making: Meet Kendyll and Kaddo Miller

by AAH Shelley Muzny

Silent, determined, hardworking, and shy are all things that describe this brother and sister. Kendyll and Kaddo Miller possess all these qualities and even the shyness, but that shyness goes away as soon as they sit in the saddle. The rest of the world fades away and they know exactly what to do to get the win.  Kendyll, 17 will be a senior this year, she is home-schooled through Epic. Kaddo, 15 will be a freshman this year at Hennessey High School. Kendyll and Kaddo are the children of Daren Miller.

Kendyll placed in the top 4 in breakaway roping while competing in the High School Rodeo Association to qualify her for the National High School Rodeo Finals. The National High School Finals Rodeo will be held in Wyoming July 14-20th.  Kendyll’s achievements also include making the KPRA (Kansas Pro Rodeo Association) finals last September and won the short round. She was the youngest roper to make the finals. This year she was Runner-Up State Champion in the breakaway that was held in Chickasha, OK. On any given night if not at a rodeo Kendyll can be found in the arena practicing. She also rides/trains horses for herself along with other clients. Kendyll is thankful for her mentor Taylor Munsell and her dad for getting her started and continuing support in and outside of the arena. Kendyll’s favorite thing about Rodeo is the friendships she has made and the support. Also, she loves riding her favorite horse Peanut!

Kaddo is a member of the Jr High Rodeo Association. He has finished in the top 15 in the Tie Down Roping. Kaddo competes in the Tie Down Roping and Steer Riding. He loves spending time with his horse Batman. When Kaddo is not practicing on Batman, he also is involved in the Hennessey FFA. Kaddo credits his dad, sister and Caddo Lewallen for getting him involved with the Rodeo.

Both Kendyll and Kaddo love the Rodeo life and traveling across the country with friends and family.  They both plan on entering the Hennessey Rodeo in August- so mark your calendars to come and support these two great and talented young athletes!
