Stitching Together Creativity: The Story of Cozy Quilt Barn and Christi Hawk

Christi Hawk has always been on point when it comes to being creative, thanks in part to her early experiences sewing with her Aunt Billie Haymaker. She further developed her quilting skills while attending ladies’ quilting sessions at the Methodist Church, alongside, Dorthy Hawk, as well as Billie Melendy and several others.
Growing up in Hennessey, Christi and her husband Jason raised their three children, Tyler, Kaden, and Emily, like a good pattern, staying in the same town. Christi previously owned Sandy Hill Designs, a boutique that focused on embroidery for 5 years but decided it was time to change the needle and thread by shifting her priorities to her children when they became active with school and sports. Later she would spend 7 years teaching classes and selling sewing machines at Prairie Quilt in Hennessey.
Basting, or shall we say putting together her talent, passion, and knowledge, she opened the doors to Cozy Quilt Barn. She aims to educate and inspire quilters of all ages, whether you are a novice or a quilt master. Cozy Quilt Barn, not only sells fabric and quilting supplies but also offers a range of weekly quilting classes and hosts quilting retreats throughout the year. These 3-day retreats provide a supportive environment for quilters to start new projects, get a fresh new idea from the Cozy Quilt Barn selection, or simply finish up an existing project all the while connecting with others, and finding inspiration. Cozy Quilt Barn also provides longarm quilting services and services sewing machines. When you step inside the Cozy Quilt Barn you can feel the coziness as Christi states “We’re cozy! Our mission is to see everyone leave Cozy Quilt Barn with a smile” You can find Cozy Quilt Barn at 15442 St Hwy in Hennessey.
