Hennessey and Dover Firefighters worked a combine and wheatfield fire Saturday afternoon, June 8th, at the northeast corner of NS 2830 and EW 680, southwest of Hennessey. The fire was reported at about 2 pm, and according to the fire report, Wes Wright was cutting wheat when a bearing went out on his John Deere combine, starting a fire. The report stated that he tried to put dirt on it, but it got away and caught the field on fire. Firefighters were on the scene for about 2 hours working the fire. No injuries were reported.
