NEW HENNESSEY HIGH BIOLOGY TEACHER

Doug Boyd is a former teacher and coach from the Texas Panhandle area. Boyd is a 1984 Turpin High School graduate and a Northwestern Oklahoma State University alum. While attending the college in Alva, Boyd obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education. He served the communities of Canadian and Farwell, Texas, for 31 years before deciding to retire in 2023. After a year away and a move back to his family’s home state of Oklahoma, he is eager and ready to return to the classroom and coaching in whatever capacity that might be. During his 31 years, Boyd has coached an array of sports, including girls’ basketball, boys’ golf, football, track, and strength and conditioning. His teaching, however, has always been that of sciences, more specifically that of health, physical education, and Biology I and II. The Hennessey board has approved Boyd’s hiring as the new High School biology teacher and has been given coaching opportunities undisclosed at this time.
