The 2024 Hennessey Eagles All-Sports Booster Club banquet was held Sunday evening, May 5, at the Eagle Event Center on the campus of Hennessey High School, celebrating the student-athletes, coaches, trainers, and mat-maids for all 12 HHS Varsity sports, and the HHS Cheer Squad.
Individual awards were given out by the coaching staff and/or Athletic Director/Principal Joshua Faulkner, with the Eagle of the Year Award going to Weston Smith, who excelled in Football, Basketball, Track, and Baseball in his four years at HHS. Gabby Hernandez earned the Lady Eagle of the Year for 2023-24. Gabby participated in Volleyball, Track, and Slow Pitch Softball.
Smith was also presented with his All-Star by Class letterman’s jacket, following his selection by the Oklahoma Football Coaches Association as one of the top four receivers in Class 2A. Weston will represent Hennessey as the Eagles lone football selection in the K101 Football Classic this June in Woodward. Weston finished his four years as a Hennessey Football Eagle with 2,260 Yards and 21 Touchdowns Receiving, both 2nd all time at HHS.
Jael Torres was also honored with, and will soon receive, his All-State Jacket, as awarded by the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association, as one of the top players covering all classifications in the State of Oklahoma. Torres finished his Eagle career with 1,518 points scored, and will proudly represent HHS in the upcoming K101 Basketball Classic, and the Oklahoma All-State Games later in the summer.
