FOOD, FUN, AND FIRE TRUCKS!

The Hennessey Fire Department hosted its annual open house on Saturday, April 6th but added a few new surprises. The most notable was the completion of the new fire station addition. There was a large turnout for the meal that was prepared by the firefighters with donations from local businesses. Shelly Burch took home the grand prize of the Pit Boss smoker. 2 Yeti ice chests were also given away in the drawings.

A Medi-Flight Medical Helicopter from Stillwater flew in and was on display for visitors to check out and visit with the crew.

Everyone was treated to a grand tour of new addition to the station that featured the large training room and kitchen. Outside on display was a new ladder truck similar to what the department would like to add shortly. One of the main reasons to add to the station was to house a new ladder truck. With Hennessey’s growth in recent years, the need for this new truck has become more important and will affect our insurance rates if one is not added at some time. Photos by AAH Jack Quirk
