The town of Hennessey conducted a test of the new tornado sirens on Monday, April 1st at 1:30 pm. Engineers were on site to install the new system and performed a complete test to ensure proper functionality.
While most residents heard the sirens, those in the vicinity of West 1st Street near the new pavilion and Oakwood Drive/Ikes Acres area did not hear them sound.
Currently, two sirens are without power and will not be operational for around two weeks until they are connected.
