The Hennessey FFA chapter and the Ag Booster Club held their Annual Calf Fry and Labor Auction on Friday, January 26th at the New Concept Event Center. Funds raised benefit student activities, travel, projects, and scholarships for graduating seniors continuing their education. Hennessey FFA and the Ag Booster Club sincerely thank EVERYONE who attended, donated, sold, and/or bought raffle tickets, and silent auction items. This is our biggest fundraiser of the school year, and attendance was undoubtedly an all-time high. Mr. Huizar stated, “I never thought it would ever be this big when we first started this calf fry.
Huizar said, “we are truly humbled, and appreciative of the community, and their support for our FFA members.” Each year, this event continues to grow from a student participation and attendance standpoint.” This year, student participation doubled, and 44 students were auctioned off.
The winner of the freezer full of meat was Cindy Pribil, and the winner of the Cricket Golf Cart was Mike Grace. Special thank you to Brandon Valles, and Justin Choate for auctioneering! We greatly appreciate your support!
