LeAnn Wood is currently facing the biggest battle of her life. Ms. Wood, who graduated from Hennessey High School in May 2021, discovered a mass in her chest on July 13th, 2023, just three days before her birthday. Following four biopsies, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on August 29th, 2023.
With the love and support of best friends, Jaden Matthews and Emily Evans in a show of solidarity both decided to shave their heads along with LeAnn, her Aunt, Uncle and grandpa last September.
Although LeAnn’s battle to fight this disease continues, the good news is that she is currently doing well! The cancer has been responding favorably to treatment, with significant shrinkage observed between PET scans. Her next PET scan is on Thursday, February 1, 2024, it will help determine whether she needs to continue chemotherapy or switch to radiation treatment. Radiation would be the final step in eliminating any remaining cancer cells. LeAnn is taking things one day at a time.
For those who wish to help, LeAnn has two donation jars, generously made by her boss. One can be found at Sparky’s Eatery and the other at Pizza Hut. Since she receives treatment in Oklahoma City, any contribution towards gas money would greatly assist her. Although there isn’t a dedicated fund set up, LeAnn does have a CashApp account for those who would like to provide additional support. Her CashApp username is $LWood716. LeAnn does not like to ask for money and understands that not everyone can contribute financially. Simply sharing her story means the world to her.
